Senats Hotel Koeln, Cologne

The hotel offers a nice view and a good breakfast, but the rooms were a complete disaster with lamps that were awful. They smelled dirty and horrible, not up to par for a superior three-star hotel.

The hotel's location is absolutely superb, making it easy to get around from the train station and within walking distance of all the attractions. Although the rooms could use an entire renovation and lack charm, the central location is unbeatable. The breakfast was lovely with a great selection of items, and the service was super helpful, even coming in early morning to assist. If returning to Cologne old town, I might consider other options for the same price.

Upon arriving late at 10 pm to find a freezing room without a view of the Dome despite paying extra, I was pleased by the high-powered shower and the great bed. However, the lack of view was a letdown.
